Title: Some help needed on winter project
Post by: Tombstones81 on October 21, 2011, 04:23:09 PM
Going to be replacing my front end with a 93 Kat 600.

Going over every detail of everything I plan to do (more then just the front end)
Bookmarking everything helpful.
Just want everything down so I dont have to go searching or asking when i am in the middle of wrenching.

Only problem I am having now is:
1-The GS instrument gauges will not bolt directly to the Katana upper triple clamp.
2-The headlight brackets will not fit on the Katana fork tubes. The fork tubes on the Katana are 41mm where the GS are 37mm.

any advice on the gauges?
get a special mounting bracket made? (totally clueless in this dept.)
or anyone that has swapped their front end to a Kat 600 could tell me what they did.

and the headlight (once again, clueless on this, yet another thing I am yet to mess with)
I bought the bike with a broken one, looked pretty nice tho.
So I am thinking of getting another http://www.demon-tweeks.co.uk/Motorcycle/Lighting/Headlights/BikeIt_Raptor_2_Headlight_Fairing/461/1922
any ideas on what I would have to do for that and stock?

Just trying to get everything needed situated, written down, and bookmarked.

Also, I do not have any parts I am buying off my nephews Kat 600 yet.
So its not like I can go out and physically look at what I can do.

Thanks
