Title: In what order would you rate these bikes and why
Post by: ghostrider_23 on October 23, 2011, 06:04:20 AM
In no particular order I have typed the following bikes. In what order would you rate these bikes and why

1. CBR 600
2. GSXR 600
3. YZF-R6
4. ZX 6R

Please explain your reason for why you chose this order. The reason being I and thinking about adding another bike to my GS so that he will have a friend and I hope to get my wife riding and we"ll have two. One for each of us. :thumb:

1. cbr 600rr
-been virtually the same since 2008. Solid reliable engine. Honda Quality. Heard it is the most "comfortable" If I was going to get a super sport, this would be it.

2. YZF-R6
-Least amount of engine problems next to the Honda. I base this off the amount of bikes with replaced and rebuilt engines seen on craigslist and forums

3. GSXR 600
-Seen lots of rebuilt and replaced engines on these. May be due to their popularity with new riders and their lack of attention to maintenance.

4. ZX 6r
-Cheaper than all of the above. Some of that may be reflected in the quality of the parts. You get what you pay for. Seems to have similar amount of engine problems as the GSXR.  I would go with the older 636 version. My guess is it will have better resale value.

You may want to look at the Daytona 675 too.  I would put it behind the Honda.

1. CBR 600 (F, F2, F3, F4, F4i, RR 03-05-07-09+)
2. GSXR 600 (92, 97, 01, 04, 06, 08+)
3. YZF-R6 (98, 01, 03, 06, 08+)
4. ZX 6R (95, 98, 00, 03, 05, 07, 09+)

Each of these bikes have been through several designs. Depending on which years you are looking at affects how I think you should rank them.

I love the speed triple, the street triple R was realy nice to, yet when my older brother wrote off my younger brothers street triple R it was replaced with a speed triple and that thing is insane

I like the street and the speed. The speed is slightly taller than the street and less comfortable putting a foot down.  The speed has insane speed. Probably more than I would want on a regular basis where I live.

Based on what I would own for every day riding:

#1-CBR600RR Its one of the most expensive but I think it is the most comfortable to ride and feels more stable to me. I also trust Honda's reliability above the other brands.

#2- GSXR600 Easy to ride, less expensive than Honda or Yamaha, no major maintenance problems in my experience.

#3 - YZFR6 expensive, looks badass, least comfortable. Not sure if it is the fairing design but this bike blows too much hot air on my legs, more than any other bike.

#4- ZX6R Cheap, good looks, questionable reliability. would have rated number 3 if it werent for reliability.

If I had to rate on looks alone it would be Yamaha, Kawasaki, Honda, Suzuki

Using just what you provided:

1. ZX6R - there are two on BayAreaRidersForum with over 100k; yes that's 100,000 miles.
2. GSXR600 - because 2nd gear wont go out on you in 15,000 miles like the R6
3. R6 - because it's not a Honda
4. CBR600 - because why would I want the same bike that everybody else has.
