Browsing for the last few parts to put the '06 engine together, I saw this listing:
http://www.ebay.com/itm/Suzuki-GS-500-Thermostat-Housing-/170680626505?pt=Motorcycles_Parts_Accessories&vxp=mtr&hash=item27bd5bad49
Is there a thermostat on the engine? Never knew we had one - or is this listing in error?
Odd for an air cooled engine. ;-)
prs
That is certainly odd ...
Cool.
Buddha.
Just follow the radiator hose back until you see the thermostat.
Ah, fleabay, you gotta love it!
The thermostat is right next to the muffler bearing. ;)
That's only on the model with power steeering.
I thought it was next to the gribaziggy - but that has been removed by the PO.
Funny to see an error in a listing like that.
I was under the impression that it's right next to the headlight fluid filler cap.
It's driven by the same shaft that's connected to the muffler bearing oil pump, so when the headlight coolant pump seizes so goes the muffler---it's more expensive, but it's money well spent to change out both at the same time.
Oh look, they fixed it. Apparently it's off a Ninja 650.
Darn :nono:
I wanted a thermostat on my GS500. That would be so cool to have the only GS500 with a thermostat
