I've been search and search for a thread where one of our members replaced their standard headlight bulb with some crazy Tron looking bulb that cost around $50.
Does anyone know of such a bulb or what are you running in your GS?
I am trying to get more visibility to protect me from the cages.
I recently swapped my stock bulb for Phillips Moto Vision. It is hard to describe the difference but it is there. It is not super significant because that bulb has the same wattage, so technically it doesn't produce more light. I would say it is more efficient though. It focuses light better for sure so if you look at the bulb from the front it appears brighter because there is more light getting directly to your eyes.
The light beam is also supposed to have longer range which is also benefit of better focused light.
Last, the light appears to be whiter in color in comparison to stock bulb's yellowish light.
I bought it on eBay shipped form UK for a total of about $25.

I believe in adding more points of light for better visibility. I added fog lights. It is shown that more points of light make for better depth perception and judging of distance and speed than 1 point of light does. Also, more points of light will make you look bigger.

While I agree with more points of lights that should contact cage drivers eyes, I just can"t swip the cost of Denali fog lights.
I checked some on Ebay for around $20-$75 but don't know if they are bright enough.
Some I am back to changing out the highbeam front light and to see if anyone has a brighter solution
HID my friend thats about as bright as you will legally get! Im doing that plus the two fog lights like the "parts whore has" lol :icon_lol:
Fog lights are a good idea except over here in our state unless it's bad weather it's illegal to have them on. But it's one of those silly laws that hardly gets enforced. Like window tint thats too dark. But IMO the more light u got the better. Unless your sneaking then maybe not so. But I can see a use when riding on a country highway gum trees either side a bright light will scare the drop bears away.

Anyway - who ever heard of fog lights on a GS500? Tell a cop there is no such thing as fog lights for this bike.
