Title: Clutch covers what will work?
Post by: knowles on October 30, 2011, 12:19:39 AM
I have had conflicting Info on clutch covers and rims. I have a 89 and want black rims and need to replace clutch cover.  do any year rims, and right side clutch cover work on my bike. On the selling part of this web site I was told that.any year rims and clutch covers would work, that they only changed the colors. The dealer in duluth Mn said only up to a 96 clutch cover would work and didnt ask about rims.

Fwiw, the only difference in wheels are colors. The axle diameter, rotor mounts, all other dimensions are the same. And being that the motor hasn't had any dramatic changes since its inception, I feel safe saying the clutch covers are the same (again, maybe different colors and/or designs though).

I'd be willing to bet that not only are all GS 500 clutch covers the same, but so are the GS450s. (I've owned both.)
