Title: Has anyone tried this?
Post by: knowles on November 03, 2011, 08:07:27 PM
I was wondering if anyone has tried to use a rear hugger off of a buell or different bike to use on a gs, or a rear seat cowel, was looking at a gsxr. Also clutch basket from different year gs. I have a 89. also killswitch, and high low beam switch from a different years. Or anything else people have used off different bikes on a gs. With or without fabrication done to the bike. Would like pics if you can. Looking to do some changes to my bike.

WTF, man? 'Has anyone tried putting stuff on a GS that isn't for a GS?', seems to be the question? Did you even look at the forum before posting in it? Like one post in 4 involves people putting stuff on a GS that might not have been intended for it.

Yes I have. I do realize that people put stuff off of other bikes on a gs. I put a couple things that i was looking at doing. But I wanted to see how it turned out or problems that they had while doing it. Not someone who has nothing to say besides wtf.

You can use a clutch basket off any year GS500, or GS450.

I think the switches can be swapped between years.  I wouldn't mind updating my old ones.  The bandit 400 rear hugger works for the GS with some drilling and trimming.  Other seat cowls will not fit without modifying the frame.

Airbrush still has a couple fiberglass huggers left. I just ordered my 3rd from him for Trey (Trey felt left out so I had to get him one.)
His fit really nice and are very well made.
You see it here on Suzi (I added the reflective blue stripe and A* sticker)
