I would like to sell my 2006 GS500F that I have set up for some light sport touring. It took me two summers of riding and 3000 miles to realize that this really is not for me. The bike sits in the garage collecting dust, it deserves better. I am not desperate to sell it, and I know it is the start of the off season, so I might be bumping this ad for a while or pulling it and listing again in the spring. It is currently winterized and stored in a warm garage. I have clean title in hand. I will be editing this ad as I remember more about the bike. Currently has just over 14k miles. I did drop it at about 15 mph the second day I owned it. The left side (non exhaust) is a little scraped up, one or two body fasteners are missing and some scrapes on the engine case are all the damage. Absolutely not damage to gas tank. This a great running motorcycle but she does have 14k miles, not a beautiful trailer queen. She goes down the road straight and keeps the rider fairly comfortable. Bike is due for a valve check. I will post detailed pics later this weekend.
New Parts (all less then 2500 miles)
Chain and Sprockets (17t front, 39t? stock rear)
Avon Tires (front and rear, stock size)
Air filter (not installed)
Fresh oil and filter
Mods:
Shad hard case mount
JC Whitney hard case
Nelson Rigg saddle bags
Zero Gravity Sport touring shield
Junk yard bar risers
.85 Sonic Springs (not installed)
20watt fog lights (used, not installed)
I would like $2400. This is less then I paid 18 months ago in addition to spending over $600 in parts and maintenance. It was bone stock back then except for the cut fender, terrible turn signals and missing chain guard. I have all stock parts I pulled off but, I never had any of the factory tool kit or manual. It does come with a Chilton repair manual. Bike is located in Springfield Illinois but I have access to a trailer and can easily help with delivery up to about 300 miles away. Thanks for looking and please PM or email any questions to ckielar at att.net
Recent picture, bike currently has different hard case.

Test rides are welcome with a valid M endorsement and your cash in my hand.
Do you still have this bike for sale? Please let me know. Thanks.
Bud
Where did you buy the hard tail case? Where did you buy the seat cover? Would you like to sell any of these accessories separate?
Thanks
Jeff
The seat cover looks like a walmart purchase, made for atv's.
Sorry guys, I probably should have removed my for sale ad becasue I have decided to keep the bike. The work I put into over the winter, mostly improving suspension, and the threat of higher gas prices have convinced me to hang on to her a little while longer.
As far as the top case, it is a cheap one from JC Whitney. The mounting bracket it is made by SHAD and is very sturdy. I purchased it used from someone on this site, not sure where they bought it from. Below is the link to the manufactures site, you should be able to find a vender there.

And yes the seat cover is the ATV one from Walmart. Works fairly well, I think the airflow it allows between your cheeks and the seat provides the most benefit. It also raises you about a 1/4" if you are looking for more legroom. The pad along with the eBay GSXR passenger pegs have added about an inch of legroom. The seat cover is sold in ATV section near the auto supplies section.
