there are only E and F models

if you are refering to GS500FK4 for example, then the K only indicates the year it was made

for example, FK4 means 2004, K5 means 2005, and so on

Remember Y2K? It stood for Year Two Thousand.

In money terms $4k is Four Thousand.

The "K" in a motorcycle sense also stands for Thousand. The Two is taken for granted. So a K9 is a 2009, for example.

Tom Baker. Notice, he never carries a weapon and he never seemed to need one - until - he had Leela and K9 and suddenly it was good they had weapons (her knife and she wanted to knife everyone and K9's front laser thingy).

I think the OP means when you order a part, you have options that sometimes has the K.  Somebody told me what it meant, but I can't recall.  For example (from cheapcycleparts):

SEPARATOR, OIL BREATHER
NOTE: ; MODEL K/L/M/N/P
