Title: k & N air filter
Post by: Dorianfes on November 26, 2003, 11:40:02 PM
so i found this site  :   http://www.powersportsaccessories.com/product.asp?0=467&1=469&3=2207

it advertises the k & n air filter for fifty bikes for the gs up 'till '01.  it also states that the filter will fit right into the OEM air box.  i was wondering if this is what most of you guys have done, or do you most people get a k & n air box too?  the site also says that rejetting is not necessary after putting in the new air filter, but i know how much of a fan everyone here is of rejetting their bikes         which do you guys suggest, rejetting or not after only an air filter upgrade?

A higher flowing air filter will lean the bike out. If it still has stock jetting, then yes re-jet. Most bikes are too lean from the factory anyway.

Airfilter=jetting. Jetting=exaust mod. Thats right, they just lead from one to another. I love it.

Wahoo!

If your rejetting anyway, get the pod filter since it's only $30.
I just order one a couple weeks ago.  Have to wait till spring
to try it out though.

Yea get a K&N pod from usdieselparts.com site. RU 2957 or something... check on the site, search on usdieselparts. And rejet to the hilt. Same effort might as well go all the way... cos you know its just a matter of time... And Winter - The coldest, and the most miserably dark and dreary pathetic day in your town is the best day to test the bike after rejetting... so those getting lazy waiting for spring....
Cool.
