After you get the bar end weights off, should be a 15 minute job. Just lay a thick jacket or something on the tank so it doesn't get scratched up.

You loosen the screw a little then wiggle it off. If you undo the screw too much, reach in and pull out the rubber bushing then use a magnet on a wire to retrieve the nut from inside the bars (Or just dump it out since you're taking the bars off)
To remove the clutch side grip, slip something under it, like a thin screwdriver. Squirt in some WD40 then roll the screw driver around it to free it up. It will then slip off. CLEAN IT to get the oil off before putting it back on. Apply some spray glue, paint or contact cement to it then slip it on. It will set in a short time and be stuck really nice.

After taking stuff off, you will need to drill small pilot holes for the pin on the controls. That pin is there to keep them from rotating if they come loose. Some people snip off that bump. I prefer to leave it on just in case the controls are loose.
Replacement bars will probably not have a welded in nut (as old bars used to have), so the rubber bushings on the bar ends are what you need.
