Title: Few LED light Q's
Post by: Tombstones81 on November 16, 2011, 09:59:35 AM
Since my bike is and will be in pieces for awhile.
Seems to be the perfect time to consider some LED light strips to illuminate the bike at night.

First site I visited was the usual one I used to.
Seen something new this time and possibly pretty cool.
http://www.customdynamics.com/led_button_head_bolts.htm

Def. different then the usual "simply replace the bulb"

Really liking these but my question is, would these fit?
even with a lil filing to widen the hole if need be.

Also.
about LED strips to illuminate the bike.
would they be fine on the normal battery & electrical system?

thanks  :thumb:

I was going to buy these to replace my indicator lens because they looked old and worn

I installed these in the front after a cage pulled out in front of me almost killing my wife & I. I got them off Ebay for $20.00

These work. I have them on Suzi in the interior of the cowling. Slightly larger than the indicators on the bike, you could enlarge the holes slightly and pop them in. Come in red, green, blue, yellow and amber.

I duplicated the indicators and put in left and right turn indicators. Didn't farkle the stock indicators as still under warranty. Bulbs are LED, though.

For replacing the stock turn indicator, you need either a non-polarized LED or 2 diodes to make it work.

Cool but I like the ones I listed a lil better.
I plan to paint the metal housing for the gauges and indicators (it needs it) and think those stainless steel buttons would look pretty sweet on top vs just the bulb with black housing.

I also doubt they will be overly bright compared to something that isnt indicated to be specifically used for indicator lights.

Like so many others, I'm missing the blue high beam cap.
and after going through so much with the bike, would hate to overlook one detail like this as it would bother me.

Yeah I'm going to get them a lil down the road, after all the painting and such.

and if need be, just file the hole bigger if need be.

was just wondering if they would be Too big as I dont know the size of our current indicator sockets.

(edit)
and Weed.
those would look Awesome if I painted my housing black and got the red.
But, they would be WAY too bright for me I think. (being right there in my face that is)
