Title: How many layered colors of paint are/were on your bike?
Post by: Tombstones81 on November 23, 2011, 10:34:53 AM
Pretty baffled at mine.
Just got done sanding down my plastics finally.
Top layer was black, then blue, and below that I honestly have No idea what order it was but seen silver, green, & purple.

No idea what the PO was smokin!

UGH my arms are so tired tho!
Brake fluid did nothing.
Gasoline (didnt have much) then kerosene ate a lil bit off the top in spots.
So I pretty much has to sand through it all as I needed it done today.

curious as to some crazy things other riders have found in the paint dept from PO's.

How I strap my work bag to the bike it has worn through the top paint on the grab bar. Beneath the paint, written in latin as best as I can figure, it says "Beware The Jibble Meister"  :dunno_black: Oddly, if I translate it as if it were Esperanto, it reads "would you like a jelly baby".  :dunno_black: :dunno_black: Strange.

mine had 3 colors of paint, black, gray, then another primer gray/black right before you hit plastic...

by the way why dont you just use a DA sander... also make sure ALL the old paints is off or you will be able to see the difference in the finished product.
