For anyone thinking of booking in for a day at the California Superbike School - stop thinking about it and just do it!
I've just come back from a day at Eastern Creek and the skills and confidence I gained today were incredible.
Apart from the Ninja 250, my GS was the slowest bike on the straights - but after learning the Stage1 techniques, I was cornering faster that many of the other participants on superbikes (R1s, Gixxers, etc). Sure they would blow me away down the straights but they were surprised when I caught up (and sometimes over took them) thru the bends.

The first lap at 8:00am was terrifying - the last lap at 5:00pm was pure ecstasy.. and about 20 seconds faster!
awesome! i've signed up for a track school over here on the east coast, but got to wait til next july. gives me more than enough time to prepare i guess
walk away with any info/tips that you wish you would've known going in?
we've been talking on the local forum about bike and body preparation, but would love to hear a fellow twinners(who's bike is setup for street) side of the story
hey what schools did you find on the east coast? i definitely want to do this in the future.

I went into this course with my own ideas about road and track riding - all of that had changed by the end of the day and its an amazing feeling when you realise
you are able to reproduce the techniques they are teaching - putting it into practice in a controlled environment was the icing on the cake.
So no, no tips or info - just go to the course the way you are and be prepared to have your rule books re-written!
As for the bike - my brakes and rear tyre are fairly new so they were fine... my front tyre had good tread but was a bit old so by the end of the day it was shredded! Would definitely recommend your tyres are in good order! If you have the standard worn out front shock then you will be able to get a understanding for how bad it can actually feel on the limit (this is my first bike so I don't really know yet how a good shock should feel)
