Thinking off installing an aux power outlet on the left fairing. I could use JB weld and put a metal plate under it for strength. Good idea? Where have you guys installed yours?

Over on the right, I used a Marinco Sealink Marine Grade corrosion resistant 12V receptacle :thumb:

Sweet. I like it. I'll definitely go ahead with the install.

Mine is wired "Hot" On all the time so I can plug a 750mA Battery Tender Junior into it, my fuse is 1A, mounted close to the battery. 1A is more than enough to charge a cell phone or I pod/Zune.

I was planning on wiring it directly to the battery (always hot). Plugging the battery tender in it is a great idea. I will order the Battery Tender adapter. Thanks for the input Stevo!
Oh yeah...you don't have to any reinforcing of any kind, unless you like to dance on top of your GS
Too late. lol. Already glued a piece of leftover galvanized sheet to the underside of the fairing. It's all good.

What is that black round LED gauge above the speedo/tach???
Whistler Cruisader Radar Detector. Pretty handy as it also shows temperature and battery volts.
Nice, I thought it might had been a gear indicator. I am looking at adding one to my bike in January

I do have a Veypor VR2 electronic guage that gives me gear indication, along with a million other things. It's pretty neat as you can track miles, mileage and other things. I don't normally use it 'cause the LCD always stays lit and its a little distracting.

WOW nice, do you want to sell it???
Not really. I think i'm going to put my bike up for sale shortly when i buy a new battery. I'm selling everything together.
OK, why are you selling your bike. Are you upgrading or getting out of motorcycles :icon_sad:
Thinking of upgrading. FZ6R, GSX650F or a Ninja 650R. I'll test the market and see how much i can get for mine first.
How funny, I went to go look at a GSXR600 this weekend and spent a lot of time sitting on it. After thinking really really hard about what I do on a bike, I could not justify getting rid of my little GS. To each is their own, I know that the look and more speed appeals to me, but I am also nervous I am going to get myself in trouble with one too.
I feel you. I'm looking for a sports tourer, not so much a super sport. I live 25 miles from work and i just want something that can cruise at 65 without the buzzines and vibration.
Dunno, i might end up coming right back to the little GS. This is my first bike so i want to try something else.
Heres mine, its a waterproof external unit;

Works well for me .. on trips I have a GPS mounted on the bars right beneath the ignition and it plugs in nicely where my 12v is installed. Its been a great addition on long bike trips.

Got an 06 GSX600F Katana.... Haven't looked back at the poor GS sitting in my back yard (trying to sell it)... Been on my friends GSXR750 and his sisters GSXR600... they are horrible uncomfortable compared to my Katana...
Guess i can add the Katana to the list of possibilities. Didn't even know they made them as recent as '06.
