I like the polished engine covers.  This bike is either a cheap beginner bike or a trusty daily ride depending what you want/need.  It also helps to remember where motorcycling was a mere generation ago.  That helps one to appreciate what the GS500 is.  A lot of power and sophistication has been added to bikes over the last 25 years but is that what you really want/need on the road every day?  The stubborn popularity of the low-slung cruiser would suggest otherwise.  We will kick that question around here forever no doubt!

I'm not going to lie, this weekend I went over to the bike store to look a t a 2009 GSXR600 with only 747 miles on it sale price is $8900. I thought hard about getting it and sat on it many many many many times but after the 56 time I sat on it I realized I don't really need something like this. God knows I would love to add it or have it but to trade in my 09 GSF and have more money heading off to the bank and for what. The little GS does everything I need for city commuting.

It was nice to fantasize  :thumb:
