Hi, all. Some of you may remember me, and I'm sorry if there were any loose ends I forgot to tie, but this summer has been pretty hectic and I just ...sorta...dropped out of society for awhile.
Had some fun on my bike. Did a good bit of work to it. Now I'm living back at my house, got a job, and just need a car this winter.
So I'm going to have to wait till next season and buy another GS500. But until then, this one's for sale:
I bought this bike in 2008 for $1800, and at the time of purchase it had 1800 miles. I am the second owner. The bike sat for many years in a garage, unused, and needed a bit of TLC. As it sits now, the bike has had the following work done:
Cleaned the carbs.
New D.I.D. Gold X-Ring Chain
New Pirelli Sport Demon Tires
Fuel lines replaced.
Two new fuel filters (one for each line - main and reserve)
New NGK Spark Plugs
K&N Air Filter
I've only ran 93 Octane in it as recommended by a friend. The bike gets between 52-60 mpg depending on the weather. It's a really fun bike to ride, and runs perfectly. It's ready for the season. I put about 3k miles on it this season, and rode it very responsibly - never speeding or acing the throttle, or burning out, and certainly never popping wheelies or any other foolish, dangerous thing. I've been a professional driver for six years and the road is dangerous enough on four wheels. Anyway...
The only downside is the color. It used to be a nice midnight pearl black with blue flake that you could only see at certain angles. The kickstand gave way at the gas station one day (It's my first bike and I didn't set the stand properly) and dented the tank. I found a good price on another tank from Adidasguy here at the GSTwin forums, bought and installed it - but it's yellow. It's not the worst yellow in the world - sort of like a Lotus yellow - and I've got a set of matching yellow panels and fender for it, too. The old tank was brought to the dump by my grandfather (sorry to those who were interested before) but I still have the original plastics. It's got a few nicks on the frame, but very minor and just surface scuffs.
I was going to paint it a flat black over the winter - it would look really sweet in flat black, by the way - but now I need the money more than the bike.
I don't want to sell it, but I just started a new job and I need a car. Gonna go to one of those buy here/pay here lots and get something decent.
It's a great bike, and it needs a good home.
Here's some pictures - note that the plastics don't match the tank - I also have the matching yellow plastics as well as the original black pearl, so you'll get all three:

I've also got a set of All Balls brand wheel-bearings that I bought when I purchased the chain. They're included with the sale. The stock bearings are fine, I just got them because they had a deal on the purchase if I spent over x amount of money. They were about $60 total.
I'm also including a Shoei RF-800 helmet, size M, in gloss black (cost $150), and a pair of Teknic riding gloves (cost $70)
Lastly, the bike has been stored indoors in a heated basement since I purchased it. I can't and won't part it out - it's too nice of a bike, and I just don't have the time. Unless, of course, you want to buy ALL the parts at once (:
Location: Ivoryton, CT
I could meet someone within 50 miles of 06442. Make me an offer I can't refuse! Write me @ nothingultra@gmail.com or reply here.
If I could buy... I would :0 that is just great!
Seems like a good price, ya? I tried to put a fair price on it, for the miles and the parts.
I'll trade you mine for yours :D Haha I love the leather seat.. I think it looks better than the GS500f model I have.
I'll trade you mine for $1800 :D
Man, I really need to stop spending so much money on food.. Damn parents should feed me every now and again and I wouldn't! WELL I'll actually keep watch on this. I have a few things I could sell that are high price items $1,500-2,500 Items.. now its a challenge to get them sold.
Yeah, man! Get some money and buy my bike! Where are you located?
Sadly I'm also located in Florida.. :( If I had a car, I'd hitch a trailer to it. drive to you, and pick up this sexy beast. and I already know its a lot of money to ship it to me aswell.
We'll see what happens. If you end up deciding you really want it, maybe we can work out a deal. $1800 is negotiable.
Hmmm.. I wonder.. if once I get the money If I could just buy a train/bus ticket up to your area. and ride it down. Only problem is getting it tagged. and not getting pulled over. for not having a tag/or invalid tag.. Ideas ideas ideas...
Use another tag and keep it under the speed limit. I cannot condone illegal activity.
But dude, it's pretty friggin' cold up here right now! I wouldn't want to drive all the way through in this weather.
give me a month :thumb:
you know what would be nice?? record a video of it running, ride it down the street a bit, and post
:icon_mrgreen:
I'll have to wait till my GF brings my camera back, but ok.
Maybe this is a bad place to sell a complete bike? Everyone at the GSTWINS forum already has their OWN GSTWIN? :(:(:(:(
Well maybe so, except for me and a few others.. :D
Tony
No reasonable offer will be refused!
REASONABLE
You're too far from me. I have 3 and 2 as a bike cave full of parts yet to magically assemble themselves.
Tony - want to sell that white KS1? Cool looking bike!
Yo dude how did that tank end up a different color?
Derp. I read the OP. My bad.
even though the yellow doesn't match i still kinda like it lol.
If you have another motorcycle you can take the tag off of it and make sure you have a GOOD bill of sale and title with you, and ride home with that. If you get pulled over you can explain you bought the bike and are riding it home - it happens all the time. They understand.
If tags means the plate on back of bike. In Australia if we buy bike or car from other state we need all proper paperwork as if vehicle stay in that state including metal govt number plate (tag??). We drive/ride to new state, get a roadworthy certificate from that state, take everything in to the transport department and they reissue new plate for that state.
Best to do is ask your transport department what your state requires. Have been reading some things here and people having troubles. Check first buy second.
Okay I finally got my car issues dealt with. Give some more time to think
Got like 6 cars parked in the driveway and two motorcycles :cookoo: gotta sell my other car, hopefully that will be done by tomorrow. now..the bike :tongue2:
Yeah, it's still for sale. Have been dealing with some real whack-jobs in that regard. Email me:
nothingultra@gmail.com when and if you're ready :D
