I have an old ( 2010 ) Busa, according to what I have read it's supposed to top out at 188 to 195 mph, mine struggles to get 185, what should I check?
Unless you are on a track I think you need to check your brain. :nono:
Otherwise...uh, how big are you...are you tucked under the fairing...and what does it feel like when you accelerate in second gear to redline? Smooth? If it does...um...the bike is fine. :dunno_black:
Is it turbo powered? Might need some more Red Bull in your tank. Or try some butter on the fairings - will help you slip through any wind resistance.
:D
I'm way ahead of you guys, been using the butter and Red Bull for years------the brain check is a last resort and I only weigh 180. Any other Ideas?
Dude honestly. That's such a small thing I doubt there's anything "wrong" with it. Next time you ride it, goose it in 2nd (if you can without flipping over backwards) and run her all the way to the redline paying close attention to how the motor sounds and feels. If you're having hesitations or flat spots in the power band you've got yourself a whole HOST of issues from valves are not adjusted, to an exhaust leak, to (fuel injected?) computer problems and injectors clogged...the list goes on. Too bad it's not a GS. You'd be lucky to hit 185Km/h.
To be perfectly honest the Big Boy is running like a top and 150 scares the crap out of me.
Actually this post is two fold; A parody of a previous post, plus I'm testing the "To the Tard Farm ejection system" of the forum------- and it's obviously malfunctioning.
If I understand what you're saying correctly... :flipoff:
Kijona, some folks just got no sense of humor.
Humor? What is this blasphemy you speak of.
There you go, that was funny.
I think the problem in this case is with the rider - he has such a hugely overinflated ego that his head has a frontal area the size of a small dam. Try tucking in a little bit tighter and see if that helps.
This thing ain't in the tard farm yet??? ------Speaking of tards, thanks for stopping by Comraddiggy

I think someone needs a lesson in the fine art of subtleties. ;)
You need to put a set of track bike stickers on it for that extra 5mph. It is what all the cool bikes have on them -

Finally!-----I get some useful information, if that doesn't work nothing will.
Yes, def on the Monster stickers. ALSO, grab some ohlins stickers and whack em on your front forks. Get some akropovic and delkevic stickers, attach them to the exhaust pipe and you're all sweet. :thumb: :thumb: 198 no problems then.
I know its a bit off topic, but I can't get the front wheel up on my GS in any gear above 4th. Can anyone help? (Oh, I have already tried filling the topbox with bricks.)

Have you tried standing on the pillion pegs?
Nice one OJ :thumb:
`Bout time someone injected a hint of light hearted sarcasm and displayed a (much needed) sense of humour in here :D
Moley?
Its probably the way you stacked them in thebox , try and get the CofG as low as possible like the Pizza hut jockeys do on their C50s.
......this guy knows how to do it :thumb:

I'm on board with the speed stickers :icon_lol: that should add at least 5-7 miles per hour more. If that doesn't work try waxing the tires and changing the air in the tires from summer air to winter air. Winter air is cooler and much more dense, this will increase the hardness of the tire resulting in quicker responce and top end speed. :bs:
I find that on my Busa I can get to about 185 and she is out of steam. That is with a helmet on. If I ride without the helmet then I can tuck in a bit deeper and usually hit 192-194 with relative ease. Just be careful.

lol, i kinda figured. O0
Sounds like you need to do the "flux capacitor" mod. Or you could always add a few aftermarket powerbands to get that extra bit of HP

NOS!!!

Thanks Sledge, bet you "got it" right from the get go.
Ghost, I'm on that one right now but winter air is very difficult to come by in Central Florida, I just ordered a tank of it from a company in northern Minnesota, it should be here any day.
craig, can't afford any power bands at the moment, things are a little tight. As far as the flux capacitor, I was thinking I could get with Buddha and pick up a rebuilt one.
Oh almost forgot... add some talcum powder to the inside of the tires. It will help balance the tires but will also create more momentum which means more engine power can be used to generate increased speed instead of maintaining existing speed :thumb:
You forgot to use helium in your tires ~ this reduces sprung and unsprung weight at the same time :)
at least you spelled struggles right
Also, cut large chunks out of the frame to make it lighter. Less weight for the same engine power should give you more speed :woohoo:
Michael
Change the speedo for MPH to km/h. That will fix the problem

What you talking about?! my toes are frozen solid here in CF, Kissimmee/orlando area!!
If the speedo reads from the front wheel, put on a smaller front wheel :thumb:
All the hot speed tricks can be found here:

Shervin is the MAN!
J Walker, you need a point of reference, try a mid-winter weekend of -60F in northern Minn.
Paulcet, that speed tricks article reminds me of the April fools piece about cleaning your drive chain with a banana peel-----I can almost guarantee that someone, or maybe a lot of someones, actually tried it.
Heyyyyyyy Ojjjjjjjjj!

OJ, I thought it was a pickle that was used to clean the chain?
And no, I didn't try it.
You are correct Big, don't know what I was thinking-----------OH wait, maybe I was thinking a banana peel would work better, that's me, always thinking.
Good call pal, you got me there.
Great pic Sledge, that brings back some memories.
