Title: Access to throttle body/carberator intake
Post by: gsgonzalez on December 18, 2011, 10:58:09 PM
Hi All,
I am wondering if there is some easy way i can get access to the throttle body/carburator intakes with the fuel tank still connected (can i just undo the bolts holding it down and lift it up abit?).

Reason I am saying this is I want to spray some upper engine cleaner (the aussie spray equivalent to the seafoam stuff you guys use in the USA) into the intake system and give it abit of a clean (works wonders on my cars so i figure why not give it a shot on the bike).

Any help would be appreciated.

Cheers

You can access the intakes through the air box. I reach in there to fit the air box on the carbs. Easy to push the rubber boots out from the inside to get them on a carb.

Lift the tank a little and remove the air filter. Probably the access you're looking for.
