Title: GS500 tail section modification options
Post by: FrictionBurn on December 25, 2011, 07:38:17 AM
Dear GS people,

I am looking for a way to replace my bulky GS tail section, I will not be using this bike for road use anymore, so I wont need any blinkers, lights etc. I want it as clean and light as possible.

I have seen a few options, like the air-tech one, however this seems a bit like a older GSXR fat assed (don't know what else to call it) model, I would like something sleeker.

Also, I have been searching like crazy for some GS500 woodcraft rearsets, I can not find them anywhere, am I looking for the wrong item ??

I hope someone can help me out a bit.

Kind regards,
Sean.

Have you checked around at Airtech?

I think some years of RS250/TZ250 tails would look pretty damn good on the GS

I might just run a VFR seat cowl over the passenger section. With a little trimming it will drop lower and cover more of the frame rails.

That actually looks pretty good fleshpiston !

And what about footpegs, I hear people recommend woodcraft-cfm all the time, however, I can't find any specific for the GS, is there any type from woodcraft that people modify to fit the GS ?
