Title: I need help getting my bike started
Post by: sumguitardude on December 25, 2011, 03:33:24 PM
hey guys, I have a 1995 GS500E and I can't get it started. I pulled the motor out, and now I put it back in and the bike won't start. All the electrical works (horn, turn signals, brake lights) but the bike won't start. The battery is good, I have started my other bikes and it is fully charged. When i push the start button all it does is make a clicking sound from the relay starter. Does anyone have any ideas of what I could do to get it started?

Clicking sound is indicative of the solenoid not "sticking". The solenoid not "sticking" is indicative of a low battery.

Just jump the bike off your car. If it STILL won't turn over like that, then you've got a bad starter connection somewhere. Check all your cables and try again. :)

Another thing you could do is bump start the bike by putting it in 3rd or 4th gear and rolling it down the road while slowly letting out the clutch. Be careful!
