Post by: trinacria on January 06, 2012, 01:07:26 PM
hey guys, noobie here so I apologize for these questions youve seen a few times before but I appreciate the help

first how do i upload pics in this website?? gotta got to pics box or something and then what??  ok, ok. i searched the forums and found spme help with pics, lets see if these works, fingers crossed

I bought a 98gs crashed for $400 with 10k on it. work ive done so far is replaced the front forks, repaired the speedometer, cleaned carbs, changed the handlebars, grips and brake/clutch lever and im not sure the bikes worth repainting before i modify the rearshock and tire, ***so heres my question, can I install a sv650 shock without cutting and drilling and is it possible to install a bigger tire in the rear( and if yes do I change the front as well??). thanks guys

When you are in the Post Box above it you'll see smilies. Above those smilies you'll see another bunch of icons. The icon on the far left loks like this (http://gstwins.com/gsboard/Themes/default/images/bbc/img.gif) When you click it you'll get Image Tags. You then put the url of your image between those tags and the image will load... here are your images... (one tag for each image)

How big do you want to go in the rear?

I have a 140 (130 is stock) and stock front. No handling problems.

tx for the reply, I looked aroung the forum and the net and figured the rear wheel will be left as is. I did order a sv650 shock on ebay for $38, Im a bit scared to to any cutting and drilling so I was wondering if I could fit it without the mods?

I've run 130/70, 130/80, 130/90, 140/70, 140/80, and 150/70 rear tires on my 97 and 02 GS's on the stock 3.5" rear wheels.  All fit without any clearance problems except the 150/70 can rub on the brake torque brace which is easily given a little bend for clearance with a BFH.  All clear on the chain side.
