I think it looks great as it is. Did you make the mounting brackets for the GIVI Mini Cruiser 21ltr saddlebags or can you buy them ?

Mabrio - you f%$king ROCK mate!  :D
Please tell me you've got a siren on it too. Can't tell from the pic - too bright.
And yes, more details on the side cases. This can turn up very interesting.

Awesome look! Two questions though, First, does people slowing down around you annoy you? Secondly,  not that I'm going to buy right away but for the future did you have to change anything to fit the saddlebags?

About the side bags again. You said they come standard with brackets/fittings?
If so are they universal ones? Givi product code?
A detailed info would be a welcome addition to the GS Wiki.

PS - blue lights and a siren are cool but there's no way it's street legal, is it? ;) Just saying - be careful about that. Cheers

About the lights and a siren things, yes i have to be careful about that - very often the real cops starring at me and they are wondering whether im civilian or one of them  :2guns:  :D

LIke the bike, most police bikes in the US look different then yours, but i like the hard bags. how much were they?
Title: Re: 1993 GS500E Police Style
Post by: bryan88 on January 20, 2012, 12:04:56 AM
Mine was old and scrapped when I bought it so didn't have many CHiPs bits, except for the dreaded blue colour which is a dead give-away in SA! It's currently undergoing a complete rebuild so hopefully I'll have some good pics when it's done, will try post one of how it looked when I got it. BTW, how do you find those high bars? Although they look really lame, they are pretty comfortable and make the bike super nimble IMO.

Thanks for the comment buddy, the panniers including the bracket it cost me around US170 the GIVI code was Panniers E21, and for the monorack it's cost me around USD35 the code was GIVI MR4

I think your handlebars pretty much are the same with mine and your engine guard is more simple then mine - i like it :) , is the color original color from the police bike? and what are the steel that mounting from the rear indicator to the passenger foot step?

The gaurds (front and back) are crash bars, they used to be compulsory years ago. I've removed them, but may put the front one back, it helps a bit if you drop the bike. Yes that is the "Metro blue" makes it instantly recognisable round these parts  :D, I'm changing it to gunmetal grey with a black frame. I think the panniers were mounted on those brackets at the back. The bars are easily available aftermarket here, think they come off a Honda CD200.

I'm thinking about painting mine white as well. Looks pretty cool with the black engine. Ok... so I'm sure you're sick of questions about the Givi system, but I asked Revzilla how to order this kit, and they told me they don't make them for my bike. Givi only lists 97-2000. Mine is a '94 E, sooo hmm. Where did you order yours? I'm having trouble finding racks for pre-97 for any side hard case system. They gotta be out there because I see pictures of them all over this site.

Thanks,
Erika

Well I have ordered at GIVI shop in my country - Bali Indonesia, here they sell it including the bracket lucky me ;) however you still can be able to purchase the GIVI box and if they dont provide you with the bracket I believe you still can be able to customize the bracket around your area there must be someone who can do that ;)

Thank you

Is it legal to ride a bike that looks like the cops? Not to mention the lights and siren.  If you tried that where I come from you butt would be busted so fast.

Besides the legality of it, it looks awesomes.  I love it.  Nice job.

The size is variable, I get it from ebay someone selling it on UK - the package was 32 pieces bolts (Suppose to be 34 pieces - they sent me missing 2 pieces big deal!) engine case completed and it cost me around USD19 exclude shipment mate, this is the link http://www.ebay.com/itm/260626652375?ssPageName=STRK:MESINDXX:IT&_trksid=p3984.m1436.l2649 happy shopping mate ;)

What happened to the stainless steel exhaust system ? Also, looks like your chain has been stretched by your bike's maximum performance in pic 12  :icon_eek:

SAFE-T thanks for visiting man, for the stainless steel exhaust system yes the color will change after while cause the heat of it, but i've heard that there is a chemical can make the original color back.

And second thins about the chain, yes when i took the picture the chain need some adjustment.

Now my issue was, broken CDI and Pick Up Unit :(

Handlebars - they don't seem to be OEM, did you change them and/or install bar risers of some sort?

Yes the handlebars it's not OEM, I have custom made, no need adjustment on bar risers - I will attach the detail picture on handlebar later on

Hi simon79,

This is a picture for the handlebars in close up ;)

Is stage 3 dynojet really appropriate? It's my understanding that stage 3 is for track bikes and not even made for the gs....Otherwise I think bike looks good. I would love to hear the exhaust and ge more details about your headlights.

Correct mate, Stage 3 Dynojet is for track bikes and I used to installed it but it seems its not appropriate for daily use so i have changed to stage 1 ;)
