Title: Ebay ediquete
Post by: john on December 01, 2003, 09:28:04 AM
Recently I have started selling little things on Ebay to make some extra cash -real nickel & dime stuff.  I ship stuff same day and yet I can't get anyone to leave feedback at all.  Whats the deal?  I leave feedback on every person that I do business with and am not getting the same treatment.

What can I do to try to get these people to leave feedback?  I need feedback to get momre bids because I know many people who won't buy from people with less than 10 or 20 ect. positive transactions.

I know the feeling, I waited almost 3 weeks to get some feedback from the person that I sold the items too.  Sometimes ppl just procrastinate far too much.  :?

I think it really just depends on the buyer/seller. Most of the people i've dealt with usually remind me to leave feedback once payment is sorted.  Not that i need the reminder or anything, i'm very good with leaving feedback immediately. But reminding people might be a good habit to pick up.

Email the person and remind them that you left feedback for them.  Gently remind/ask them to return the favor.

I make it a habit when I send the payment off to remind the seller I will be more than happy to give positive feedback once the items are received and always welcome the returned favor.  But I will not leave a premature feedback.  As soon as I receive the items bought and insure they are in the condition the seller says...I'm all over it.

People are really slow on ebay to leave feedback, what i find is that the more $$ the transaction, the sooner the feedback. Reminders are cool if they're worded approprately. Me  - ebay since 1997.

I only get feed back 80-90% of the time.  When I bought my GS off Ebay, the guy didn't leave me feedback.  You'd think when you pay somebody around $2000 on time, they could leave positive feedback...

I believe the seller should drop feedback the moment the check/Money order clears, cuz the buyer has then fullfilled thier end of the contract, sadly ALOT of sellers do not do this. they wait to see what kind of feedback the buyer gives them. i have seen some buyers get Neg feedback because they pointed some thing out that was wrong. Poorly cared for objects, carelessly packaged, shipped weeks late, no answering of e-mails. and the seller retaliates.  it looks bad to other sellers when they see neg feedback from sellers about buyers. very few care what happend just that the seller asigned a redflag.

I send an email thanking them for the transaction along with a polite prompt for them to leave feedback for me. Sometimes sellers will hold off leaving feedback until the buyer leaves positive feedback, just incase they require any recourse. I don't worry too much about not getting feedback any more since I hit 100.

Nekkid Queen and Thatcher... in a torrid... Adds meaning to the saying "For queen and country" well you get the idea... Its been banned in most countries... (most of the ones with common decency laws anyway) and I was able to procure some from my under world contacts.... secretly smuggled into the US inside the handlebar tubing... and now sent to you...
Cool.

I don't get too wrapped up in the FB wars. Some folks are obsessed with it. As a seller, I don't leave FB until the buyer does. That is when I consider the transaction complete.
