Title: Help removing engine?
Post by: jacob_ns on January 30, 2012, 05:12:34 PM
I've followed the book to a T and I can't get it to clear the frame. What am I doing wrong? Is there a trick to it?

Do you have a floor jack and a friend?  Place the floor jack under the oil pan and raise the engine up an inch or 2.  Rotate the engine 45 degrees counter clockwise so the rear of the engine faces the right side of the bike.  Lower the jack and roll the engine out   :thumb:

With said friend, and the engine strapped to the jack; remove the stator side case and clutch mechanism cover and the thing just pops out of there like an egg in a bottle.

Also helps to tie any loose wiring up and out of the way to make sure they don't interfere and you don't snap any of them.
