No real point to this thread, I was researching the Bed Buddy for my truck because I'm always concerned about bending the front of my bed....

and I came across this video. I've seen it before, but I watched it twice and cracked up both times. I thought it was worth a share.

I of course then got sucked into the youtube black home and just watched video after video.....

No crash in this one, but it's seriously just painful to watch. What in the world is wrong with people?!

That last one... never heard of a tape measure? :cookoo:

The bed buddies work nicely TT but the cheapest option is to wedge a few tennis balls between the bed front and the cab.

I have, and I'd consider one if I was into SUVs and that was my only option. I have no desire to leave my bike dangling off the rear end of my truck haha. I guess it's the twisting that bothers me. If they had braces at both ends that also bolted to the frame I would be as concerned, but I always picture you taking a right hand turn, having the whole bike and rack rotate off counter clockwise because a weld gave out. Besides, what's the point of owning a truck if you won't put stuff in the back??

That's an idea. I have a tacoma, which has a composite bed with just a metal rail along the top edge, so considering it's plastic I at least don't have to worry about it bending like a metal bed would. at the most I might just have to replace that front rail someday, and even then I'd probably just go to home depot and grab a square steel rod, paint it black and bolt it on there, would be pretty sturdy. I'm not sure how far the composite would flex before it just cracked though, which would be way worse than bent metal. I like your idea though, I may explore it further and see if there is anything a little more permanent that would be good to fit between the bed and cab.

Or if you have the money, and a regular truck:

Surprisingly, I'd already seen all but one of those videos. That imbecile trying to load that red Yamaha...man I wish the bike would have fallen on him.
Say what you want about the guy trying to load that GSXR...at least he had balls big enough to ride the damn thing up the ramp - not that he SHOULD HAVE BEEN but, at least he didn't get halfway up and then puss out and drop it off the tailgate. Also, it doesn't seem like the GSXR was damaged - it fell on the guy which I'm sure prevented any scratching.
Best way to do this type of stuff is to find someone with a steep driveway and ask to borrow it. Back the truck up to the driveway and then gently roll the bike right into the back of the truck with some short ramps. Then again, I doubt any of these people are as bright as we think they might be - LOL!
Aluminum ramp and an old metal milk crate are what I use to get the bike in the truck. Works for motorcycles and goats  I just walk next to the bike and feather the clutch and throttle to get it up in there. I bent the bed on my brother's Ranger loading a Banshee back in the 90's. Ever since then the first thing I do when I buy a new truck is wedge a pack of tennis balls between the cab and bed, haven't bent one since :thumb:

I've got 2 ramps, one is just a folding aluminum one, and another is a solid aluminum one that's only wide enough to use for a dirtbike. I should've bought 2 of the folding ones but I was feeling cheap haha. I'd use a milk crate and let the bike pull itself up by itself, although harbor freight has a really nice looking folding aluminum stand I've always got my eye on. It's permanently on sale for $32, and I feel like someday they'll get bored and sell it for $20-25 and I'll go grab one.

I picked up an el cheapo at northern tools to load mine into the bikehauler. Never having used one, I couldn't believe how easy it was. Should have gotten one years ago instead of asking friends to 1-2-3 into the back.
