Title: Frame sliders
Post by: Pontiackid73 on February 16, 2012, 10:11:00 PM
After a little bit of searching i was unable to find frame sliders for my 01. Does anyone know of a manufacture or has anyone made their own? If you made them where did you mount them to/ make them out of ( pics if possible). I have the tools to fabricate them if necessary.

Would it be cheaper to buy the 2nd ones I posted from the UK?

If you want the cage they are around. Ask adidasguy I think he know where to get them but I don't think they're cheap.

Any will fit on a naked bike. Crash bars do not fit on a bike with a fairing or belly pan. Your only choice there is crash sliders/bobbins.

There are 4 crash bars available.
SW Motech makes a set. Also Renntec.
If lucky, you might find the original OEM ones but they are a 2 point mount where the above are 3 points and stronger.

There is this one which just came on the market

On Trey (in the back) can be seen the SW Motech crash bars. Junior has simple sliders by R&G Racing.

Adidas are all of your kids naked? I thought you had an "F" model and was going to ask about sliders for after I eventually paint Flick!

I don't think that's legal. You can't park matching GS500's next to each other, you just can't!

Also, holy hell those rims would otherwise be ugly as sin but for some reason...that lavender color just works great.

Lmao I agree with you up to the ugly as sin part. I think that is offensive to sin.

Before you bash the lavender rims to death - we must bow our heads in remembrance of those rims. That bike was stolen last year never to be seen again.
Next to it is Trey when he was going through his "gender confused" phase. Now he is blue.

Someone stole a GS? It had to be the lavender rims that they wanted. Oh and they say purple is the colour for sexual frustration  :dunno_black:

Okay, let me start off by saying that I wasn't bashing the rims! I enjoy them because they go great with the bike! What I was trying to say was that under normal circumstances, they WOULD be ugly! However, on that bike, they were not at all!

Secondly, who the...who steals a GS500? I mean, what kind of crack-headed, chicken bone chewing, shoelace-less, idiot...steals a GS500?

Also...

Adidas...did you seriously own two identical GS500's? Yes, I realize there are minor differences but, for all intents and purposes, they were identical. And no, one being on RES doesn't count. XD

If so, I'd say you've actually improved since then. Now at least all your bikes are different colors!  :icon_lol: :flipoff: :icon_lol:

The stolen one was a friend in West Seattle. She has since bought another GS500.
There is one more purple one in West Seattle often parked in front of a condo building on Alki Beach. I should leave a note on it someday and find out who owns it.
Odd - both Trey and Junior originally were purple before their previous owners painted them - one black, the other yellow.
Purple happens to be the color of University of Washington. So here purple is OK.

Purple rocks.

That was my car when I was 16, built it myself.

383 w/ a turbo 400 automatic transmission (the 5 spd would turn into a grenade under the tq) with 4.11 rear end, truck shocks in the rear, lowered springs in the front and back. was a fast, fun little car.

Sold it after I blew up a few engines.

BTW, those are Tall SUV tires in the rear, pic was right before that giant snow storm in 2006 that dropped 2 feet of snow. You can see the 285 tires on the right hand side of the pic, along with the spare tires for the nissan.
