OK fellow GS members...stop being difficult...obviously the original poster is trying his best.
Now then...based on the info provided...looks like it's either a 1988 or 2013.
I went and searched the img name on the interweb and found this:

It works on every bike, but mainly is used around the rider's mouth area prior to putting on the helmet.

No...I think the original poster might be referring to the white disc in the background. Pretty sure it mounts to gauge assembly on pre-2003 GS's using duct tape. If I recall it correctly it wasn't a popular option...it protects against insects while moving but the powdered sugar attracts them at stop lights.

This forum is awesome, I learn something new every day!
Please go to www.imgur.com or www.tinypic.com. Upload your image and then grab the "direct link" and then copy & paste it into the post with "[ìmg]" at the beginning and "[/img]" at the end of the URL. That should work.
Lmao, this is by far the best posting yet, so informative and educational. Keep up the good work.
As far as the unpopular option, it wouldnt work to long for me......I get hungry riding around.

I wonder how many people actually noticed this subtle joke? :icon_lol: :icon_lol: :icon_lol:

1989-2000
Though it could fit any GS500 with a little modding.
I should note that it needs mounting equipment. It doesn't just "bolt right on" to any GS500.

This image has been on Wikipedia for a long time. If I were going to repaint and "modify" mine this is exactly what it would look like.
Actually, it fits on nothing and you should mail it to me. because I know you want to.
I'll give you a dollar...
:D
hmmm a dollar... ill think about that. I was thinking about selling it but after that picture I am not sure if I want to anymore. :icon_question:
I thought I could just mount it on... turns out I needed some hardware so it went in the closet.

It's the same color as my '94 color purple. I recently bought an orange cowling just like it, but the hardware for it doesn't look like this fiche... http://www.bikebandit.com/1994-suzuki-gs500er/o/m6054#sch241721
It has a bar that attaches all the way around. If I had a picture, I'd show you. I always thought if it is the wrong bracket, I could alway make a couple that look like the ones in the fiche.

Close. I do have a black front fender and black headlight cowling. Don't have the 1989 tank, though. Part of what you like is on this early picture of Junior. Might make Phenix look like that other one since I have the parts (in storage right now) except the tank is 1999 black with silver. Like this red tank but in black.

That bracket does look pretty simple. Maybe ill try and get creative if I decide to mount it properly. I am going to see if I can locate the hardware, if not ill be paying a visit to my local hardware store. Maybe you can snap a pic for me, I would truly appreciate it.
adidas,
Beautiful Pic! can I ask where you got the seat? everything on it looks awesome. thanks for sharing
Found it! Gimbel solo seat, but for 350.00 i wont eat for a month, but then again....
Gimbel seat. They come primed. You paint as you wish. At the present time, I have their other seat on Junior. The one shown is now black (technically "Pearl Novelty Black") with red and silver stripe to match the tail and belly pan. This seat probably will go on Phenix.

PS: Their belly pan is closest to the OEM.
For a headlight cowling closest to OEM, there is Skidmarx in the UK.
by the colour...... i'd guess 94 yeah the mounting bracketry will be fun to find.....look at bike bandit pics to ref if you gunna make them. good luck
