Title: front fender years = to 97?
Post by: Steelcity77 on February 21, 2012, 07:18:18 PM
i tried to contact dealers to cross reference what years are interchangable for my 97' GS500E. All i get is 97'-00' with uncertainty about earlier years because suzuki changes part #s so frequently. i have seen many photos of earlier than 97' front fenders and they look identicle. I'm planning on painting a used fender i can buy  but i want to be sure it will fit before i purchase it. thanks for your time and input all

Bikes are identical from 89 to 00. They all fit.

I MIGHT be mistaken but the fender on my 07 "F" looks identical to the one on my 97. Go figure.

All front fenders are basically the same and are interchangeable.
Early years had a rubber thingy to guide the speedo cable. You can always drill a hole for that in a newer fender or just use the newer wire guides instead.
Oldies had a rear mud flap. You can always drill 2 holes in newer ones for the mud flap. I've done that to all my bikes - I think the mud flap is cool and keeps things cleaner.

Post a want-to-buy for a fender. Many of us have extra front fenders and tail plastics. Specify color or get whatever and paint it to match.

PS: I see its your first posting so you are a noobie. There are a number of parts whores on this board. You can get most any part by posting a want to buy ad.

Now, keep in mind, there is a distinct difference between parts whoring and whoring yourself for parts.  :flipoff: :icon_lol: :flipoff:

I'm single and available. What does it matter?

But...being single is good! That way you don't have some woman breathing down your neck trying to get you to get rid of your bike(s)...LOL!

Not all like that! My wife has no problem with me owning a bike and she insists I go out at least once a week for a ride to de-stress from "normal" life.
Probably another reason we have been together for 24 years and married for 15.

Oh, I know there are exceptions. I was just making a reference to the cliche about women and marriage and motorcycles, LOL!

Still it took me 23 years to convince her to let me buy one. She HATES them and made me sell my one I had when me met. She refuses to get on it and has never been a pillion on my bike.
