well besides a slow gas leak somewhere... I have 2 oil leaks on my side covers or somewhere in the front side of the engine, What are some of the more common places for a 05 to leak? the bike has been down on both sides... There is fresh oil on the first bolt for the case on the right hand side (when sitting on the bike) the other side I haven't checked out very carefully... Please help me stop owning a British bike... and start owning a Suzuki again lol...
Pictures? I have an 05 myself, Currently In pieces.. :0
Pictures would be helpful. Side covers are a strong possibility since it has been down. Cylinder head cover is common. Oil filter cap could be your culprit on the front. Best bet is to clean up the bike and then start monitoring for where the oil starts seeping from.

Pics or its not leaking...lol. JK But really pics will help. :D
At the risk of sounding lazy, would someone mind posting the torque values for the oil filter bolts and the 8mm side case bolts?
Thanks in advance.

Will try to get some pics up today, The oil is not leaking from the oil filter, just replaced the oring there, oil seems to be coming from the front right corner and front left corner, Its where the case split and the side cover meet on both sides, Im really scared if the main case is leaking... I torqued all the bolts in the area down and they all tightened a bit, but the leak did not stop, the case bolt(not side cover) furthest from the center on the right side was coated in oil pretty heavily and "dried" oil was all around that area...
Another question I had... What is the point of the drain plug on the right hand side cover? its the same style as the oil drain plug.
The GS500 is an update of a 70's engine design, the drain plug is just a carryover from previous generations.
