Title: Oh Craigslist, why must thou tempt me?!?!?
Post by: BaltimoreGS on February 24, 2012, 09:24:54 PM
I definitely don't need it, I don't even really want it; but there is something about a nice original unmolested bike that always tempts me!   http://baltimore.craigslist.org/mcy/2866246295.html

Why do we look at bikes when we are not in the market?

It's an obsession.

And I'd love to have both of those bikes, Especially that YZF.  So clean.

We are ALWAYS in the market. Staying Up To Date with Market Research for WHEN (not if) we need to let one bike go and another bike to replace it. For some that 'time to let one bike go' is only months, others it is over 100,000 clicks.

A lot of those bikes lose a piston or valve about that time.  Don't be so tempted.  If it had 15,000 miles on it I'd be jumping at it too, but the miles are kinda high on this one.  It's a sport bike, not a cruiser.  18,000 rpm engines don't last as long between rebuilds as engines that spin half as fast.  If the engine's been gone over I might go for it, but otherwise I'd keep looking.  The bike does look pretty good, but the miles give me pause.  Best of luck to you.

Are you talking about the YZF Bill?  If so, where did you see the miles?

Could be that you're seeing it with old cookies.  I just checked in another browser, and it's showing the mileage for me in both.
