Title: Leaking copper washers?
Post by: Pontiackid73 on February 28, 2012, 07:46:18 PM
My head studs are leaking from the copper crush washers, anyone have this problem?

can it be solved by torquing the head bolts more?

You can torque them to the factory specs, but if you're seeing oil there, they are either really really loose, or you're getting oil from another place and it's leaking to the head studs. Has your valve cover gasket been checked lately?

Even and correct torque on the head is important for the health of your head gasket. I'd be included to replace all of the copper washers inside and out, and re-torque everything to spec.
