If he needs to adjust the front brake ti either make it more level responsive or less, he does it with his left hand so his right hand can stay on the throttle. People whine about the front breaks on a GS, want them more responsive. In a race as the race goes on your brakes could fade. This way he can increase the pressure and still have good brakes. Or release the pressure to suit what he wants.
