Title: Got the GS500 engine gasket set today.
Post by: J_Walker on February 29, 2012, 06:41:51 PM
So I got my gasket set today. It had a lot more than I expected it to have.. Exhaust gasket, oil filter gasket/o-ring thing. a few other O-rings I have no idea what they go to. Whole gaskets for the side covers. chain tensioner gasket. 2 copper rings? Da hell are those for.. Oil breather hose gasket. Didn't think it would come with all this stuff! Hopefully I have everything I need to put the top end back together. I'm prob. gonna keep all the extra gaskets that I don't have to replace - right now - On me in my backpack that I carry with tools/supplys for anything that might go wrong while I'm on the road.

Going out now to install the Exhaust gaskets!

PS: Fedex delivers packages at 8:00 PM.. weird....

Make sure you have the copper washers and O-rings along with the cylinder base gasket and head gasket. The "O-rings" I speak of will feel like they are made out of metal. I think they are made out of metal.
