Title: Safety
Post by: wolfs02shadow on March 04, 2012, 06:47:42 PM
Have a 04f and I change out the front sprocket to a 15t over the weekend. What I can't get over is that it wasn't bolted on. All that holds it is the snap ring. Has there ever been any issues with that.

You'll be surprised what those circlips can do. There isn't meant to be any side loading forces on the sprocket so that's why there is a circlip. Do a google search on it and find out how often tgey fail and why.

Would it also worry you to know that a little snap ring is all that holds your forks together??    :D
