Title: 15T sprocket and dynojet
Post by: Soso444 on March 09, 2012, 12:39:43 PM
Hey guys. Just afew questions for ya. I have a 2009 gs500f. I want to switch out the front stock sprocket and replace it with a 15T  but I cant seem to find a 15T sprocket for my 2009. I just come across years 2004 and 2005. Well the years matter? I heard that 2004+ will fit a 2009? Also will I need to buy a different chain or can i still use my stock one?

Also, Im going to throw on a yoshimura pipe and I know you need to rejett it. Would the Dynojet stage 1 work with it well or would you guys recommend something else? on dynojets website they claim to only use this jet kit for racing and not for street use...should i be worried about this?

Thoughts guys? thanks.

The sprockets will fit from the earlier models. As for your chain it is recommended to change it but if there is not much wear on your current one you can get away with it. How is the condition of the current one? Any tight spots?

As for the Dynajet kit I can't say as I do not know. But with the racing only bit of your question, most aftermarket motorcycle parts say "for track use only" on them. It is their way of covering their asses.

I just put the 15t on my 04 and I was able to keep the stock chain. Keep in mind my chain wasn't worn any for the bike only has 1000 miles on it. I also put a yoshimura pipe on but I did the Buddha jet kit. Check with Buddha on hear and he will hook you up on the jets you need very good price that you can't beat.
