Hi guys,i got a small issue with my petcock on a 2000 vl250 intruder i have it fixed now but would like to replace it,or reco it.My question is are all the petcocks on suzukis generic or do they have different petcocks for different models.If some of them are generic does any one know what other models have the same petcock,or where to get a aftermarket petcock for it.My other option is to reco it,but i still cant find anything on this model,same agian is their other models that have the same petcock.
Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

I doubt the GS500's frame-mounted petcock is the same as your intruder, but I don't know for sure.
It is a common practice here to replace the petcock on the GS500 with one from a Honda CRF250X. It is simpler, and doesn't require vacuum from the carbs to function properly. One less hose to run whenever I have to pull the carbs. They're not expensive either.
Very few things on motorcycles are generic. A few things are pretty standardized in their sizing, such as wheels and bars.
The setup on the GS500 is not terribly common - most bikes put the petcock right on the tank.
