Whats up guys long time no see! Its a good thing for me, means i got no problem with my baby lol.
well my question for today is: If you would too straight pipe your bike with larger jets and pods and just simply eliminate the muffler all together what kind of problem should a person expect to run into.?
I personally do not see anything wrong with doing this considering most harleys and other road bikes are all straight piped to the best of my knowledge i know some have baffles in them also known as a silencer.
Second question for the day.. how exactly does the choke on our bike work????
example when you pull the lever towards you will it:
A. Limit the amount of air that goes in the fuel mixture to make a richer more combustible mixture so its easier to start the bike?
B. Viseversa of the above?
C. Magic? lol
thanks as always guys hope everyone is having a great Monday funday :cheers:
Straight pipes are for jerks.
If you watch your carburator when you put the choke on you will see that it opens the slides ~ similar to holding the throttle open a little bit
Drag pipes only have any benefit in a certain rpm range - and it's a very narrow range. Matter of fact, Sportsters actually lose HP when running straight pipes.
The choke is actually a fuel enricher - it adds gas to the mix. Older carbs literally a plate that slid down and blocked off the air intake. Hence, they would "choke" the engine of air.
Ping this guy, I know its older but maybe he went through with it;
