Title: 2002 Gs 500 Leaking Problems Please Help
Post by: marvinowanski on March 14, 2012, 05:04:49 PM
I bought my bike last year April and late fall I noticed the engine near the spark plugs getting dirty. I wiped it off but it slowly comes back. Please Help!

Is it oily?  have you had the cam cover off lately?  Can't tell squat from the pics

looks like cam/valve cover gasket leak, dirt sticks to oily surface much better than clean. easy fix, buy new gasket, pull tank, then cam cover, replace gasket and put it back together. should be an hour or so job.
