Title: F to E Headlight Conversion Question
Post by: byoung on March 27, 2012, 09:35:37 PM
I'm dead set on finally converting my F to an E and I need to track down a headlight.  After losing out on a few ebay auctions (and watching those prices skyrocket in the last few hours), and found a link to this headlight somewhere on this board:

My question is two part.

1) Does anyone know if this will work with the US wiring and just plug right in?  I don't really care if the parking light works or not, though I guess I would prefer if it did since it's there.

2) Can I use this mounting bracket from Dennis Kirk, or do I have to try to track down the stock mounting bracket?  Those things are almost as hard to find as headlights.

I'm open to other suggestions or ideas on this conversion if you have them  :D

Thanks in advance.

Should be a YES on everything.
Lights4All is good stuff. I use it on all my bikes: headlamp, smoke turn signals (for the 2001+ turn signals) and smoke tail light.
You can wire up the running light. Your "F" has it, same wires go to the running light in the Lights4All headlamp.
Suggestion: wrap a little thin bit of rubber on the bracket so you don't scratch the forks. It will give a little better grip, too.

You, sir, are the man.  Thanks for the quick reply.  I think I'll put my order in this week.  I was planning on the rubber around the bracket.  Maybe just buy a cheap bicycle inner tube or something and cut it to length.
