I'm bypassing my stock petcock . I always run it on Prime anyway with no leaks from the carbs .
Anybody have any Idea what to do with the ON valve on the in tank shutoff valve :dunno: ? ( Without replacing it :nono: )
Obviously I will be connecting the RES to the Carbs directly ( with a high-flow fuel filter) but have to lock/close the ON side of the valve .
Anyone have a tested recipe for not having 5 gallons of Gas on my garage floor tomorrow morning ??
I can't offer any solution to your problems. But I'm curious to why you are doing all of this? :dunno:
I don't need the petcock as I run the bike only on Prime
the reason I run Prime is that my petcock is not working sometimes.
and the vacuum hose sucks air to the fuel filter ending in fuel starvation :x
(Yes. I checked it shutting the vacuum hose off resolved that issue )
I want to simplify the fuel delivery as much as I can .
Thats why I got the GS as it is a perfect motorcycle in my opinion without any additional unnecessary accessories ( firing etc. )
I reset my trip meter every time I tank so I know when I'm low. don't need the Res/On switches . Thats about it :)
When my vacuum petcock died, I replaced it with a manual one made for a Kawasaki Mule ($10 NOS on Ebay). It has a good-sized plastic rotary knob, that's easily turned with bulky gloves on. :thumb:
For one idea, see Piper5177's second post in the old thread [busted pitcock (http://gstwins.com/gsboard/index.php?topic=4228.msg33562#msg33562)].
Read the entire thread for extra details and the standard correction on the diagram (which you have propbably figured out already).
