Title: think my battery is fried
Post by: doonsy on April 04, 2012, 12:54:54 PM
Since I got the bike in spring battery been giving me issues,  if I let it sit for even a day or 2 it wont start, i figured it had to do witu night temps so I've been patiently waiting for problem to cease , normally I throw it on charger for an hour and bike starts up. But now like a week later ow even with battery charging and maintaiand all night I put it in bike and its still dead, the head light is on but very dim and no controls work , I guess I just need a a new battery or could something else be wrong?  Thanks guys

Knowing only what you told me in your post, it sounds like the battery.  I'd get a new one.

I forgot to mention the previous owner said he replaced it last summer,  could it be toast so soon ... it was stored in a Canadian garage over winter

Most certainly could be. Even a brand new battery can be toasted after the first charge if you do it wrong.

Buy a new battery. Get a good one. A gel or LiFe.
Batteries should go for months without needing to be on a charger.
