For a 95 kawi zx600e! Even trade! Guy is looking for a starter bike for his wife. Found it on CL. Anyone have everyone with these? I've read several good reviews and I'm stoked to possibly work a deal with him.
Where are some links to the bike? What condition is it in? Has the seller seen your bike? Here in Australia they are called ZX6 ninjas and are pretty decent bikes.

Not sure of overall condition, going to take my bike over there tuesday so we can look them over.
Might be a good deal. I rode my brother's 90-something ZX6 Ninja a couple times. Nice bike, but not very comfortable for long rides.
Hmmm...needs a chain? I dunno man...sounds fishy.
It's also old as dirt...who knows where that thing's been. I'm always wary about people who want to trade DOWN to something smaller or just something different. True that some people are like that, but, for the most part, I'd say people like that are trying to get rid of a piece of crap.
Will it even run? :(
He said it runs fine, needs rear tire. It would be a trade up for me, mine is a 94. I have $600 wrapped up in my bike. I bought it in pieces. I have nothing to lose lol. He actually has a very nice r1 for himself, he is looking for a starter bike for his wife. I'll be sure to give it a once over on tuesday to make sure everything is legit.

Says it needs a chain...and from the pic there doesn't appear to be a chain on the bike. So does that mean that it's unrideable at the moment?

i'm assuming so. it looks to be in good condition other than those items. If everything else checks out i'll trailer it home. I have very little in my gs. If everything doesn't check out, i'll keep the little twinner :icon_mrgreen:
It also looks like it is missing more on the tail section too. If it doesn't run I wouldnt' touch it from the APK! As you know we have so many dealers around here why isn't he just trading it in for something nice for his wife? Why is he settling for second best especially if he has an R1! Something doesn't feel right and he sure isn't giving much info!
Mary
He gave much more info in the emails between us. He has the title for it, I'll be sure to check the vin to make sure it matches. My bike isn't the most beautiful thing either lol, I won't miss it if us gone nor will I be disappointed if we don't trade. I trade up/down quite often, the guy at the dmv knows me on a first name basis so I def know what to look for as far as the legal matters are concerned. It does need work but so does my gs.
I like it. If someone would strait trade me for a bigger bike, I would totally do it. Then regret it the next day when I wrecked it and started crying for my little gs. But thats just me, hopefully that bike doesn't turn out to be a total pile of crap.
The bike is unknown, unridable. Can't even shift gears on it and listen for crunches. Id pass.
Unless, you had a chain the right pitch and length for that bike laying around.... then its possible.
Remember. A title doesn't mean you won't owe $1000 in back taxes ;-)

he does have thr chain, I asked. It's worn. He said he would re install it for me to look at it. in florida we pay taxes one time when the bike is titled/registered. No yearly fees. If it's a trade, no taxes are owed, just the cost of title transfer and registration.
I'd just go over it as well as possible. Could be a win or could be a learning experience in the making. It does suck going from having a bike to working on one and not having a rideable bike. Good luck though.

thanks cb. Everyone can see what I did with my gs in short time. I knew nothing about the gs when I got it, and had a fully functional bike in two months. The guy that has it said he drained the carbs before storage and has recently ran it. I'll make sure to check everything well lol. Worst comes to worst, which really isn't bad, is that I ride the gs back home :)
Keep the GS500. :kiss3:
:2guns: If you get rid of it, you'll have to to some other message board. :icon_twisted:
Where will you get parts? Only GS500's have parts whores. :flipoff:

lol, I may just keep it.
Funny how this forum will keep you wanting to stay with the GS. My next fi project I want to use another GS.
And you're getting a new sprocket - in the mail as we speak - so how can you possibly get rid of a bike with a new sprocket?
Would you get rid of your woman if she were wearing a new thong? I think not. Maybe if she were wearing your old tidy whities with skid marks.....

hahaha, your right. I'm beginning to think this guy may be having second thoughts anyway, I was supposed to be meeting him right about now, he said he had to work late... so we shall see.
Went out to look at it last night, it's def not perfect, but it does run. Going back tonight to get a better look. The motor is a little noisy, but I'm not sure exactly what to expect from it. I'm going to ride it tonight, see what it's got.
