Title: Going Touring, need advice on luggage please
Post by: Cadbal on April 11, 2012, 04:00:12 PM
Hi guys, i purchased my first GS just after the summer last year, spent most of the winter just doing work commutes and enjoying whatever weekend riding i could here in south wales. I've gone about maintaining, some tidying up throughout the winter but it's hard without a garage to stay dry in while wrenching.

Anyways, this summer me and some friend we're thinking of doing a few mid distance runs, it's a few hundred miles to them in Scotland and we we're thinking of coming back down, maybe to france and possibly ireland, so i need some proper luggage racks this time instead of a big rucksack.

I was thinking of a top box and panniers, or would it be worth investing in a tank bag also? and if anyone can provide links to start me off in the right direction, i've been to eBay and such already but any extra help would be great.

Thanks in advance

steve

I bough these cheapo's off E-bay for under $90 shipped....Here is a link to the same bag set for a little more $....

They work great for bringing all my crap to work, storing my rain gear, cold weather gear, a bit of dog food, some beef jerky, binoculars, a few wrenches, roadkill, extra socks, tv dinners, fine art, champagne glasses, etc........ :icon_mrgreen:
