Title: First carb clean - lost a part $@&!
Post by: FViller on April 14, 2012, 10:24:23 PM
Well pulled the bike out a few weeks ago and it was running like crap after sitting all winter. Decided I finally read enough on carbs thanks to this site and decided to Pull the carbs and give them a cleaning. Everything went well until I went to put them back together...the damn cat got into the parts and now I only have one emulsion tube (needle jet I think).
Where would be the best place to find one online or does anyone on here have access to one?
Thanks in advance...knew the carb breakdown was going too smoothly :(

A local junk yard would be my first guess. Or a Suzuki dealer.......or maybe Adidasguy. Then there's Bikebandit.com, ronayers.com, cheapcycleparts.com, eBay, etc.

Local would probably be fastest if you can though.

Cats are a real problem. They steal your bike if they can.

I probably have what you need if you show a picture of the other one so I know what you need.
My cats help package parts and inspect for quality.

If Adidasguy doesn't find one for you I have several.

cats or emulsion tubes?  :icon_lol:

First you should look under all the local furniture where the part was lost, my cat, and this is not unusual among the species, has a fun time batting all the contents of a table or any box/bag/container onto the floor, and under any furniture within 30 feet.

never thought i'd be giving cat advice here.

I'm allergic to cats.  No cats here!

Also look in the registers.  That's where my cat likes to swat little parts.

Hahaha.  Well, I have searched about everywhere for this thing to no avail. It probably doesn't help our dogs like to steal the cats toys and take them outside.  >:( However,  I did find my shoe that's been missing. It's from a 1996 and I'll try to get a Pic up but it's the round tube with tiny  holes in it. Thanks everyone!

Yep, that is the emulsion tube.  Also called the needle jet.  Adidasguy got the jump on providing you one, so I'll give him first shot.  I have several as well from some old carbs that I bought.  They need a little cleaning, but should be good to go.

Hay Bomb: I still have to check so I'm not sure. I've recently given away some spare carb parts. If you have it handy - go for it.
