My LED tail signals shown in the pic above basically suck. I thought they were fine and bright enough. I was told by multiple people that they were not safe enough or visible enough, but I wanted to make these work. Their time has come and gone.
I was almost involved in TWO separate accidents this weekend. I also rode with a friend and he could not see my signals during broad daylight (not bright enough).
I already have the new smoked out tail, which I love. My conundrum is that I want to keep out the blacked out look, but also be quite safe also. I know someone on here (don't remember who) has smoked out rear signals.
Would these smoked signals + orange bulb be visible enough for people to see me when I'm turning? These are from the Lights4All company eBay store:

My bike is a 2009. The site says these will fit signals up to 2006. But will these still fit?
Need some serious comments/help here guys...
Adidasguy has smoked tunrs i think, Pm him to see what he has.
There is a good reason why the Engineers design the OEM lights the way they did. Not saying you shouldn't try to change them, but sometimes it's just good to leave things be.....Anyway, hope you find a combination that keeps you safe. :thumb:
Yup. DOT-stock is a good look to help with not becoming road pizza.
Put a black vinyl bike-butt-bra on there when parked for the total blacked out look when parked. Then take it off to ride. Or figure out that "blacked out" looks are for show bikes that don't ever get on the road. They can even get you (or add to) a ticket if Mr. Ocifer is feeling a tad grumpy/picky/low on the quota.
Some of the aftermarket "kewl" krap I (can barely) see in front of me when driving/riding blows the mind, and I'm a frigging motorcyclist - lord knows what cagers make of it. Or just don't see at all.
That was the main reason I went with bulb signals...I had read and heard LEDs were questionable as far as visibility. As for the smoke/signals, you had asked about these a while back and Adidas gave you the info on them;

fraze - I am aware of the prior thread, but adidasguy's response from that thread does not address any of the questions I asked above in my first post of this thread.
I am asking about:1. fitment of these specific Lights4All lights (linked above) - the prior thread has a dead pic link, and I need to confirm that these are the correct ones prior to purcahse.
2. brightnesse/safety of these smoked Lights4All signals.
I went through the thread. All photos are there. I didn't see any dead links.
I have ridden behind Suzi with the smoked everything. The look and brightness was great. The smoke are really easier to see. Rather than going from orange plastic to illuminated orange plastic, they go from smoke to orange light. MUCH better contrast for the turn signals. Same with tail light. and the tail light is a direct swap.
At one point Suzuki added an extra little plastic nib on the orange lenses. Lights4all doesn't have the spot for that so you take little nippers and snip that "bump" (which is all it is) off of the turn signal shell. Might have been 2008 when Suzuki did that. It serves no purpose.
FYI: The parts from lights4all and approved for street use by the German transportation authority. Germany is very strict on what you can add or change on a bike. These are not un-tested el-crapo aftermarket parts. They come with German certifications for legal use on a street bike.

Thanks, Adidasguy. That's great to hear. As always, appreciate the help.
Just to clarify, the smoked signals (linked above by me), ... are basically just lens replacement and bulb replacement? I then swap the OEM orange bulb and OEM orange lens for the Lights4All stuff? Correct?
OEM bulb is white.
You replace the OEM bulb with the orange on they send. Replace orange lenses with the smoke ones. Takes a couple minutes to do all. add an extra minute if your signals have that extra bump that needs to be snipped off. I have a photo somewhere but it is pretty obvious.
Thanks.
I assume if I wanted to also swap out the front signals, same exact thing... As I believe the front and rear signals are the same parts... Yes?
