Title: BEA-utiful GS500 and with only 10k Miles
Post by: Byard on April 23, 2012, 04:19:17 AM
Just stumbeled across this on eBay, its probably the nicest GS I've ever seen!

Does anyone know anything about the fairings used or more importantly the headlight?

Just to add this is not my bike (I wish I was )

the 89 clipons are the best part. those plastics look like a sweaty ass in the summer heat.

otherwise, it's shiny.

The wiki has all the answers you seek!

It is by TCP and they now have a US web site:

Probably the Only fairings I would ever put on a GS500.

Bike listed has them scratched up pretty good tho.

sadly, doubt I will ever come across a good set when I have the $.

as (copied from the site)

This article is no longer available from TCP Aerodynamics.
JF Motorsports in Germany has the last batch of this product. Please contact them at
www.jfmotorsport.de

If imported and sold in the USA the price would be $1,709.00

Bike's ok. Clipons are probably the best part. TCP and Airtech fairings are dated. Are you saying you wouldn't put these one your GS? I wouldn't buying them though.

There is a buy I buy from that has some new old stock of the fairings. That fairing was an OEM option sold only in Europe. Check this out. Some of your parts might be there:
http://stores.ebay.com/Reut1209/_i.html?_nkw=gs500&submit=Search&_sid=833388452

5-stars made a fairing that was almost identical. Also only sold in Europe.  Not sure where the years were or if both were available at the same time. TCP had dual headlights. 5-starts had a single rectangular headlight. As far as I know - I could be wrong on this. Just basing it on the 2 fairings I have.

Its a cool fairing I will put on one of my bikes this summer for a summer make-over.
