Hi all,
I'm looking at buying these grips as my old ones are past their best, but I can't see how my throttle cable will link to the grips?

Probably a stupid question but my old grips have the plastic thing the cable goes into moulded into them so :icon_confused:

That plastic bit is the throttle tube. When you change grips you do not remove the throttle tube. You just remove the old grip from the throttle tube and then slide the new one over it. If you look closely at the picture in that Ebay listing you will see that one of the grips has a larger ID than the other one. The larger one is the one that goes on the throttle side, over the throttle tube.
The OEM grips are not actually molded to the throttle tube, but they are a pretty tight fit. You may need to use a knife to get it off.
There shoul be a way to separate the two. Have you tried the carb spray trick?

When I removed my stock grips, they slid right off. Well, not slid, but I pulled them off the same way as if you pulled a sock off of your foot without any problems
Use something like wd40 or crc with that little hard to reach places tube and spray it between the grip and tube, clean it up with some degreaser and you can use either grip glue, or spray the tube with some hair spray. It acts as a lube and adhesive to get it on.
Cut the old grips off with a sharp knife and be careful not to split the throttle tube... as for re-installing them, I used hairspray... its slippery as buggery then dries as a glue to keep them in place. Overnight is the best option as they have time to dry 8) and they smell purdy for a while too :thumb:

I saw those foams ones but when they get wet they will take forever to try. Plus they are easier to damage. :thumb:
I would recommend getting ones that have the gel in them only about $15-20.
