Title: Electrical help
Post by: Tombstones81 on April 23, 2012, 07:37:14 AM
Finally took the new motor out of my car since it stopped raining for awhile.

Unknown territory now.

The thick wire from near the front sprocket area are different then my other engine.

What do I have to do here?

the triple separated wires are my original motors wires.
the plug (same wire but diff end) is the new 01 engines.

One has a multiplug and the other has bullet connectors and.......thats it!!

The generator outputs 3 phase balanced AC. The reg/rect is not sensitive to phase rotation, it wont matter which of the three wires the reg/rect sees  :dunno_black:.

Cut the plug off the new one and connect it to the existing wiring in any order you like  :thumb:

Older stators had 3 bullet connectors. They connected to an adapter cable buried in the wiring harness that went from the bullet connectors to the 3 pin connector. Newer stators had the 3 pin connector and didn't need the adapter cable in the wiring harness. You can get a 3 pin connector and replace the bullet connectors or connect then in any way you wish. There is no special designation to the 3 wires. Any wire to any wire is OK here.
