Title: Spark plug head scratching
Post by: noworries on May 04, 2012, 10:31:26 PM
Anyone help me? Pulled the spark plugs from a GS5oo today that had never had them removed ('cept, maybe, for 1000k initial dealer service). Anyway, right hand plug as per normal - plug, washer, plug cover. Left side had all those + a black plastic/rubber tube that seemed to sit between the top of the plug and the plug cover. Buggered if I could see how to get it back on! Help an old man, plse!

Ok, I'll try and get a pic. I'm guessing that the part is intended to waterproof the plug but I'm buggered if I could get the plug cover to sit down properly on the plug itself with this extra rubbery plastic grommet also in place. Give that there wasn't one on the right hand plug I left the grommet off. Must say that the bike is lovely after a plug clean!
