Title: New owner and rider in TN
Post by: afx500 on May 11, 2012, 06:30:55 PM
Hey guys been checking this forum out for awhile now while trying to decide what bike I should buy, and this place helped me a lot on my decision. Just bought a 93 gs500 and I'm still very new at riding. I love it so far for sure. Guess I'll put a pic of the bike now that its nice and clean... was super dirty when I bought it. I live just North East of Nashville I'll be turning 21 this upcoming Monday and I'm in the Tennessee National Guard.

I've got an idea of what I want it to look like eventually, but it's going to take some work and time.

Thanks :)

im 30 minutes west of knoxville. you are only maybe 4 and a half hours @ legal speeds mind you. from the dragon  8). consider that if your ever off for a couple days.

I actually just found that out a couple weeks ago. I've always seen videos and pictures of it but didn't think it was so close. Once my buddy gets his new bike we're going to plan a trip there.

get on interstate 40, then get on 140 toward maryville. follow it til it comes to a T. turn right. you are less than 5 miles from 129 entrance.. follow 3 or 4 miles. will notice signs for dragon on left. turn accordingly. some back country riding. you come to a market, riding along waterway, then to dam after dam/overlook its on. just watch out for THP on tn side. NC doesnt really care tbh. friend has maserati, and a friend of his driving a ferrari 458 got a ticket lol.

i sold my 97 with the gsxr can to someone in your area when mom got sick. ( before she passed away. ) been gs' less since. but this is my second home lol. another ride a tad closer called " the devils triangle. " hwy 116" into lake city 25w, turn left onto 116. follow it, til you see a sign for petros, ( directing you to 116. anyhoo some 180 degree curves, comes out near brushy mtn penitentiary. a fun ride. ran that many times on  poker runs
